Catalog Course Description
An advanced course for the vocal performance major. Integration of advanced pop vocal techniques, dance, and body movement, and tour exposure in a professional-quality performance/tour ensemble setting. 54 lecture hours, 54 lab hours arranged.
Course Objectives
- demonstrate improved and refined vocal technique as applied to the elements of popular vocal technique
- demonstrate improved and refined movement techniques as applied to the elements of popular choreography
- demonstrate the ability to memorize, organize and refine performance material
- successfully combine singing and dancing skills in a polished, professional performance environment
- explain the procedures of successful touring
- successfully interact with a group in a performance situation
- successfully adapt to a variety of performance environments
