Upon completion of the required courses, students will receive the Medium and Heavy-Duty Truck Master Technician Certificate. This certificate requires the completion of the courses required for the Diesel Engine Service, Diagnosis and Repair Technician Certificate and the more advanced truck system courses including hydraulics, truck chassis, drivetrain and HVAC courses which provide the training needed to service, diagnose and repair the truck systems specifically found on on-highway trucks. Students completing this certificate will be prepared to work as entry-level technicians in the on-highway truck industry.
Certificate of Achievement Level Student Learning Outcomes
Students completing the Medium and Heavy Diesel Truck Service, Diagnosis and Repair Technician Certificate of Achievement will:
1. Be able to explain the theory and operation of heavy truck chassis systems, drivetrain and heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.
2. Demonstrate safety procedures when working on heavy duty trucks.
3. Demonstrate effective communication to owners and operators of heavy duty trucks the required maintenance and repairs needed.
4. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of workplace expectations and apply proper troubleshooting techniques to diagnose and repair heavy duty truck systems.
