Catalog Course Description
This course includes the study and performance of intermediate to advanced level traditional and contemporary repertoire composed specifically for soprano and alto voices. Vocal technique, sight-singing, and musicianship skills specific to treble ensembles will be covered. Public performance required. Audition required. 54 lecture hours, 18 lab hours arranged.
Course Objectives
- demonstrate an intermediate to advanced level knowledge of treble chorus performance practices from a variety of vocal styles and periods
- demonstrate an intermediate to advanced level of familiarity with major vocal compositions and composers in the treble chorus genre
- demonstrate an ability to apply intermediate to advanced level treble chorus skills in a public performance setting
- improve intermediate to advanced level sight reading and musicianship skills

- Intermediate to advanced vocal skills in a treble chorus ensemble
