Catalog Course Description
This intermediate level course provides an overview of the techniques necessary for the performer in a live musical theatre production. Topics include history of American musical theatre, audition technique, rehearsal and performance techniques at the intermediate level, and methods of production evaluation. 36 lecture hours, 54 lab hours arranged.
Course Objectives
- demonstrate familiarity with specialized vocabulary of musical theatre productions at the intermediate level
- apply musical theatre performance skills at the intermediate level
- analyze standard stage literature at the intermediate level
- assess and apply knowledge of rehearsal and performance techniques at the intermediate level
