Catalog Course Description
An advanced course for the vocal performance major. Advanced vocal techniques in a professional-quality setting. Emphasis on rehearsal techniques, total presentation, body movement, and audience rapport. 54 lecture hours, 54 lab hours arranged.
Course Objectives
- Identify the various components of vocal and other performance techniques required to produce a finished, professional presentation
- demonstrate the ability to memorize, organize and refine concert material
- Assess their vocal capabilities and select appropriate performance material
- Execute choreography as appropriate to material
- Deliver "talk spots" and other audience, program and introductory material
- Demonstrate a practical knowledge regarding tour protocol, behavior, professionalism and manner
- Demonstrate a practical knowledge regarding appropriate audience rapport and professional performance skills
