Certificate of Competency in Drone Technology
This program gives the opportunity for non-credit students who are taking courses in drone technology to achieve a certificate in this field. It provides students with a fundamental understanding and knowledge in the UAV/UAS discipline. The curriculum includes courses in drone piloting, drone mapping, commercial drone flight and applications in industry. Completion of this curriculum will demonstrate commitment to the field and provide comprehensive preparation for further academic study through upper-division coursework. This curriculum specifically prepares students for work with organizations, companies and industries as well as upper division coursework in UAV/UAS technology, remote sensing, and mapping.

Certificate of Competency Level Student Learning Outcomes
Students completing the Drone Technology Certificate of Competency will:
- Acquire technical knowledge of drone operations, mapping software, weather and meteorology terminology, airport and FAA terminology, radio communication procedures, geo-spatial/GIS tools, and the use of ground control points in preparation to gain employment in the UAS/UAV industry.
- Acquire technical knowledge and hands-on skills in drone photogrammetry, aerial photography, 3D models, aerial cinematography, and media editing skills in preparation to gain employment in the UAS/UAV industry.
- Demonstrate proficiency in hands-on skills training in drone piloting techniques, drone data collection, aerial photography, aerial cinematography, multi-media production, quality control procedures, and utilization of industry standard mapping and media editing software.
