Catalog Course Description
The Blood Borne Pathogens (BBP) training is mandated by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). It includes training in the most common bloodborne pathogens, control methods, and follow up from occupational exposure to blood and Other Potentially Infectious Materials (OPIM). After completing this class, the student will receive the recognition of completion of the course. 4 lecture hours.
Course Objectives
- Outline individuals at risk for bloodborne pathogen exposure.
- Identify sources of exposure and common risk factors.
- Illustrate proper use of universal precautions and personal protective equipment.
- Evaluate exposure control plans and post exposure processes.
