Catalog Course Description
The course provides learning assistance through supervised one-to-one or group tutoring. Students receive assistance outside of class time to improve learning and study skills. 144 lab hours.
Course Objectives
- Identify personal learning problem areas.
- Analyze personal learning styles, strengths and weaknesses.
- Implement effective learning techniques.
- Identify deficiencies and increase competencies in those skills necessary to successfully complete the course.
- Integrate the skills learned in tutoring into the specific course.
Lab Content
- Supervised one-to-one tutoring with a recommended tutor
- Identification of specific problems and concrete objectives developed
- Review of effective learning strategies
- Effective learning techniques developed and reinforced in tutoring sessions
- Work to correct identified deficiencies
- Development and articulation of learning goals
