Catalog Course Description
A beginning level workshop class in applied music including a private one-half hour lesson per week, attendance and participation in a weekly concert hour and skill and repertoire building activities. 18 lecture hours, 80 lab hours arranged.
Course Objectives
- demonstrate refinement of elements of good musicianship including accuracy of notes, rhythm, pitch, breathing, etc. as appropriate to student's performance medium at the beginning level
- demonstrate performance skill improvement to a faculty jury and through public performances at the beginning level
- demonstrate knowledge of music style and interpretation through his/her performance medium at the beginning level
