Catalog Course Description
This class is designed to develop student's "Show Choir" level to intermediate status. This class includes singing, dance and movement for vocalists and rhythm section/horn accompaniment. Public performance required. 36 lecture hours, 108 lab hours arranged.
Course Objectives
- Communicate appropriate terms in intermediate dance/movement and music.
- Recognize, correctly sing, and execute stylistically to the show choir genre.
- Analyze and apply theoretical knowledge of individual pieces through rehearsal /performance settings.
Major Course Content
- Analysis of intermediate repertoire available for Show Choir Ensemble.
- Intermediate vocal and instrumental skills in Show Choir Setting.
- Implementation of rehearsal practices.
- Implementation of performance practices.
- Analysis of Show Choir literature
- Selection of intermediate repertoire for public performance.
- Evaluation of Performance
