Catalog Course Description

Techniques in basketball such as ball handling, passing, receiving, screening, cutting, shooting, team play and strategy of the game. Rules are included. 18 lecture hours, 18 lab hours.

Course Objectives

  • analyze and evaluate the game of basketball along with the development of the basic skills of offense and defense
  • demonstrate the ability to pass, dribble and shoot a basketball
  • display a working knowledge of official score keeping duties needed during a competitive basketball contest
  • demonstrate the correct stance, hand position, and footwork needed for proper defensive execution.
