Catalog Course Description
Basic knowledge of child development and guidelines for use in primary health care settings. 18 lecture hours.
Course Objectives
- Integrate growth and development theory of the child into nursing practice in a health care setting.
- Assess the infant, toddler, preschooler, school age and adolescent according to the theories of Erikson.
- Discuss family development/relationships observed in health care settings using appropriate theories.
- Describe physiological and psychological concepts of the child from birth through adolescence.
