Catalog Course Description

This course covers the history of western art from the fall of Rome to the beginning of the Renaissance. 54 lecture hours.

Course Objectives

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the history of western art from the fall of Rome to the beginning of the Renaissance
  • Recognize historic styles and techniques in the general period of western art from the fall of Rome to the beginning of the Renaissance
  • Evaluate forms, functions and the interrelationships of art and a specific culture within western art from the fall of Rome to the beginning of the Renaissance
  • Compare historic styles as well as individual artistic styles within western art from the fall of Rome to the beginning of the Renaissance
  • Distinguish and recognize major monuments of art and architecture within this period of western art from the fall of Rome to the beginning of the Renaissance
