THEA 231: Concert Touring Technical Director

• solve problems in concert touring through the ability to interpret working drawings and plots in the set up of lights, sound, video and staging systems
• demonstrate knowledge on the set up and operation of static and intelligent lighting consoles to include but not limited to ETC express, ETC EOS, GrandMA, HOG, Virtuoso and Avolites
• demonstrate knowledge on the set up and operation of digital and analog sound consoles
• demonstrate proficiency in the skills required for monitoring the condition of equipment including lighting, sound, and rigging equipment
• demonstrate and employ basic skills of the technical needs of a live concert production
• execute the responsibilities in pre rig, show run, and strike
• demonstrate knowledge on the set up and operation of video systems for a variety of venues
• assist leads in executing a live concert through planning and execution
• assist in arranging for the repair and replacement of equipment within budgetary constraints
• perform preventive maintenance on equipment
