Catalog Course Description

This course focuses on the detailed workings of digital audio workstations as a whole, and specifically on the ProTools platform. This is a detailed class in all aspects of digital audio inclusive of tracking, mixing, troubleshooting, and plug-ins. 54 lecture hours, 72 lab hours.

Course Objectives

  • Demonstrate comprehension of digital audio terminology and concepts
  • Describe hardware and procedures used in digital audio workstations
  • Demonstrate ability to mix and edit in the digital audio realm
  • Demonstrate an ability to use computer based digital signal processing
  • Demonstrate competency with digital post-production editing techniques
