Catalog Course Description

The Medical Terminology II: Advanced Terminology course will build upon the medical terminology studies in Medical Terminology I. Students will move beyond the basics and into more advanced understanding of body systems, pathophysiology, testing, and procedures. 24 lecture hours.

Course Objectives

  • Build upon basic skills needed to communicate effectively in a healthcare setting.
  • Prepare for advanced levels of employment in the healthcare setting.
  • Distinguish between normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology.
  • Gain the skills needed to prepare for advanced education in the healthcare field.
  • Demonstrate the ability to utilize medical terminology in a meaningful way.
