Catalog Course Description

An advanced level workshop class in applied music with an emphasis on improvisation and developmental techniques which includes a private one-half hour lesson per week, attendance and participation in a weekly concert hour and skill and repertoire building activities. 18 lecture hours, 80 lab hours arranged.

Course Objectives

  • demonstrate performance skill improvement to a faculty jury and through public performances at an advanced level.
  • demonstrate the ability to perform a variety of musical styles through his/her performance medium at an advanced level
  • demonstrate knowledge of various musical styles and interpretation through his/her performance medium at an advanced level
