Catalog Course Description
Stringing, tuning, fingering, playing techniques, notation, chords and chord progressions, reading guitar music, playing simple melodies and accompaniment. 36 lecture hours.
Course Objectives
- solve mechanical problems such as stringing and tuning
- read beginning guitar music in first position
- accompany voice or other instruments using simple chords and right hand textures

- Thumb-bass right hand strumming patterns
- Introduction to note reading in first position
