Catalog Course Description

This course explores the history and principles of physical education, exercise science, and sport. The objectives are to define and investigate the importance of physical education with a view toward developing a basic philosophy and background for professional education. 54 lecture hours.

Course Objectives

  • demonstrate an understanding of the objectives of the sub-disciplines of physical education
  • identify and analyze the fundamental concepts and scientific foundations of physical education
  • express the need for physical education on the part of everyone
