Catalog Course Description
Introduction to quality management in construction, the system and its supporting elements. Course addresses quality compliance, audits and reporting, including the development and implementation of Construction Contractor Quality Control Plan. 54 lecture hours.
Course Objectives
- Understand the roles and responsibilities of the various participants in a Quality Management System.
- Understand the interfaces between Quality Assurance and Quality Control.
- Analyze standards, tools and techniques used to enhance quality implementation.
- Develop a basic Inspection and testing plans for a small construction project.
- Understand the fundamental processes of quality compliance and issues resolution.
- Analyze the attributes of a successful Quality Management implementation.
- Demonstrate proficiency in preparing standard Quality Control reports associated with inspections and materials testing.
- Demonstrate ability to interpret and apply the various contract documents pertaining to construction quality.
