Catalog Course Description
Advanced application and integration of website software and various scripting languages. Students create web environments and applicably utilize various programs including but not limited to Dreamweaver, Animate and Adobe PhotoShop. Emphasis will be placed on design, animation, quality, and application employment-related situations. 36 lecture hours, 72 lab hours.
Course Objectives
- apply the elements and principles of art in Web page design
- demonstrate knowledge of color theory and its application on the Net
- exhibit an understanding of design and layout, and their application in Web page design
- exhibit and understanding and sensitivity to typography and its relevance in Web page design
- use applicable Web design software and languages including, but not limited to HTML, JAVA software, Macromedia Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash and Adobe PhotoShop
- manage files, disks, and programs using the system software packages
- understand the operation of windows as an operating system and how it interfaces with the Net
- exhibit competence of ?hands-on? skills including sketching, type indication, and story board and flow chart creation in a creative and logical manner
