The Entry Level Healthcare Skills certificate will prepare individuals to step into roles within the healthcare system. The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Electronic Health Record (EHR) and basics of Blood Borne Pathogens (BBP) will all be covered.

Certificate of Competency Level Student Learning Outcomes

Students completing the Entry Level Healthcare Skills Certificate of Competency will:

  1. Understand and illustrate the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) as it applies to Healthcare Providers.
  2. Demonstrate the ability to navigate the Electronic Health Record (EHR) both to locate and document patient information.
  3. Utilize appropriate prevention strategies in order to protect the community from potential Blood Borne Pathogen (BBP) exposure.
