This program brings students to the advanced level of English acquisition and enables them to improve their occupational, academic, or personal status.

Certificate of Competency Level Student Learning Outcomes
Students completing the English as a Second Language - Intermediate Certificate of Competency will:
- Perform more complex language and life skills through the use of reading, writing, speaking, and listening in American English.
- Transfer into credit ESL instruction at the Level 4 stage of coursework or continue in noncredit instruction in NC 309 ESL Multiskills - Advanced.
